miriam Aylward

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Miriam translates the Terra Praxis vision into achievable action plans and supports the internal team in developing scalable systems and measurable outcomes. She has worked with nonprofits for over a decade to help them build resilient business models that maximize impact.

Prior to joining the team at Terra Praxis, Miriam served as Executive Director of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, a network of over 15,000 people who work in renewable energy, building science, and high performance design and engineering. In this role she worked with a small staff to produce over 40 events a year, each of which presented data-based approaches to transforming our built environment, advancing best practice, and working towards a zero-carbon future.

Miriam holds a Master of Business Administration from Antioch University New England, where her area of study was on non-profit operations and management, and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College. For over a decade she lived in the Rocky Mountains, running an event planning business in Montana, and leading backpacking trips in Wyoming and Utah. She now resides in western Massachusetts and in her free time you can find her exploring the lakes, trails, and breweries near her home.
